Aimee Yawnick, The Death Doula
Today we joined by Aimee to discuss her very interesting job
"In my adult life I’ve been blessed to have found several career paths that have allowed me to fulfill my passion for serving, nurturing and coaching people to live their best, most healthiest version of themselves. Each opportunity organically transitioning to the next with little or no lapse in between. During the Summer of 2021 my journey as a Hospice Volunteer began. Spending time doing this sacred work gave me a deep sense of purpose. It awakened in me an awareness about the gift of life as well as the need to transform the way we look at end of life transition and care. Our society tends to focus on our differences as humans. But we are all headed to the same destination in the end. In the end, we are all facing the same inevitability. Unfortunately, most of us are in denial about death and dying. We avoid talking to our loved ones about it, and many do nothing to prepare for what is absolutely, guaranteed to happen to us all. I have been guided to do this work to educate. Initiating not only the conversation of death and dying, but also to help elevate the consciousness about the subject, identify what is most important to individuals while they’re living, and create a roadmap that will ensure a more conscious, peaceful and grace-filled end of life experience for themselves and their loved"
